On our CTS® 500K pots, we raised the overall resistance to 550k guaranteeing both consistent performance and specs. For example, these tighter specs assure that you will never have a 500k pot with a resistance under 500k, nor higher than 599k. On our CTS® 250K pots, we raised the overall resistance to 275k guaranteeing both consistent performance and specs. For example, these tighter specs assure that we will never have a 250k pot with a resistance under 250k, nor higher than 299k. Compare this with other 500k pots that can vary anywhere from 350k all the way up to 650k!
