You are bidding on 12 Gay Head Chinese Dogwood seeds - Cornus kousa "gay head" .It features showy clusters of white flowers that are ruffled and curled with white bracts held atop the branches in late spring. Flowers are followed by an abundance of magnificent crimson berries from early to mid fall.It has green foliage throughout the season. The pointy leaves turn an outstanding brick red in the fall. The peeling gray bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape. Shows some resistance to anthracnoseHardiness Zone: 5-9 Height: 15-20 ft Spread: 10-15 ft Edible parts : Fruit - raw or cooked. Sweet and juicy, it is very nice in small quantities. Very seedy. The skin is rather tough and unpleasant, but the pulp is delicious with a custard-like texture, it is one of our favorite late summer fruits. The fruit is about 2cm in diameter. Young leaves - cooked.Other uses : Wood - very hard and heavy.
