A Type 2 postcard #17 - YOGI BERRA ~ New York Yankees Postcard issued circa 1975-80, Union Novelty Company of Los Angeles* We first acquired some Union Novelty Co. cards mixed among some other postcards a few years ago. *After some searching, we have concluded that Union Novelty Company (or another "Broder" figure) issued these 20-35 years ago. They are nice quality and seem to be reasonably difficult to find. ~ Two Different Types ~ Furthermore, there are two different types: Type 1: No identification on front; postcard style back with Post Card Union Novelty Company Los Angeles in the upper left corner. There is no identification as to the players pictured, but none is necessary since all are noted ballplayers of the pre- and post-war period. Type 2: Player name, New York Yankees, and card number (with some variances) imprinted on front / Yankees logo with "A history of excellence..." and Union Novelty Co., Los Angeles on reverse. Note: An Example of Type 1 (Joe DiMaggio & Hank Bauer) has also been scanned (see third and fourth scans). This is provided for informational purposes only.
