Description: 1880 s Morgan Silver Dollar MS63PL PCGS Vam 88 Pitted Liberty Head This has to be the biggest head scratcher of a coin I’ve owned. Under powerful magnification the polishing lines on the obverse of this coin are like nothing I’ve seen before, they don’t run north to south like most. The fact that it’s a Vam 88, “Pitted Liberty Head”, is a lot of fun. Vam world says this die probably wasn’t used very long because of the pitting. I hope the Vam 88 makes it on to a list of coveted varieties sooner rather than later. I’ve hunted this variety for a while and even found one with an unidentified reverse. It’s a very unique coin that deserves to be in your Morgan Doller Vam collection.
