1943 boy Roi Davis Jr. fishing in Painted canoe ORIGINAL photo Jewish Orlando FL

Description: This item originates from a bulk lot I purchased of family photographs and correspondence relating to Roi C Davis Jr of Toledo, Ohio (FamilySearch identifier LKYH-XLW). Roi's parents were Lieutenant Roi Clayton Davis (1905-1977) and Bernice H Finklestine (1908-1977). He had one younger sibling, Guy Davis, who is seen in some of the pictures I acquired. Roi Jr attended University of Wisconsin-Madison and had three sons with his wife Leruth Gold Davis: Mark G. Davis, Rob W. Davis and Jud J. Davis. In addition to his other business interests, Roi Davis Jr also owned the fabled Buckhorn Exchange restaurant in Denver. One interesting particular is that Roi Davis Jr co-founded Foresight Ski Guides in Colorado with his son Mark, who was blind but an avid skier! The collection likely originated from the estate of Roi’s widow Leruth Gold Davis, who passed away in 2023 in Denver, Colorado. Very interesting lot of photographs that offer a small look at Jewish history and culture in the Midwest.
