Description: Note: Please study the images carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may interpret colors and contrast differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person. Mistler of Leavenworth, KS with parking meter This is an original press photo. Leavenworth, Kansas: Wooden nickels are now legal tender in Leavenworth, but using them in parking meters presents a "knotty" problem for Police Chief A.C. Mistler. The "nickels," five-cent certificates printed on thin wood, were passed out in Leavenworth to celebrate the city's 100th anniversary and redeemable at local banks for cash. The wooden nickels feature a bust of General Henry Leavenworth, who founded Fort Leavenworth in 1827, and for whom the city of Leavenworth was named when it was established in 1854. Photo measures 7.25 x 9.25inches. Photo is dated 06-08-1954. PHOTO FRONT PHOTO BACK Historic Images Part Number: neb62086 Sell Smarter with Kyozou.Inventory and Ecommerce Management
