Description: This is a genuine 1954 Proof Set of five U.S. mint coins in original cellophane slips and box. Denominations include 1c, 5c, 10c, 25c, and 50c. The coins were struck at the Philadelphia mint, strike type: proof. Staining seen in the photographs is from the staple used by the US Mint to attach the cellophane packets together for packing in the cardboard box and appears to be only to the cellophane. The cellophane packets are unopened and original, and appear brittle due to age. These have not been repackaged in vinyl packets as many appear to have been that are offered on eBay. The coins come packed in the original tissue paper packing and box. Some of the writing on the box is my father's from when he purchased the set in 1954 or at later dates. This proof set has been in a single family since the original purchase in 1954.
