Description: This auction is for a photo of Sam Auxier Jr. in his 1969 Ultra/Stock 427 Tunnel Port Powered Mustang at Cecil County Drag-O-Way in Rising Sun,Maryland . Sam Auxier Jr.,from Aspen Hill,Maryland, built his red, white and blue AHRA Ultra Stock Mustang from a Body-In-White that he was given by Ford Motor Co. in 1969. This car was built by Sam,who built the engine, along with Chick DeNinno, who later built several of Sox & Martin cars . The car was powered by a 427 Tunnel Port motor with 2 4-barrel carbs and had a 4-speed Ford Top Loader Transmission . The car had a 1 piece fiberglass tilt front end and a straight front axle . Sam kept this car for one season and won the 1969 Cars Magazine Shoot Out title by downing some of the biggest names in Drag Racing. Sam sold the car late in the 1969 season to go NHRA Pro Stock racing with a Ford Maverick . This photo is made from my original negative on 8" x 10" Premium Photo Paper. U.S. Property Copyright Law applies. The white strip that is shown, will not appear in the photo. Great look back into Drag Racing History.
