Description: 1961 JGA 13 (JGA-13) Doyusha' Menko Baseball Playing Cards Smaller Size 1-1/4" X 2" Mike Solomko (8 of Clubs) U.S.A former Pittsburgh Pirates system These Small Baseball Playing Cards were made in 1961. They are Catalogued as JGA 13 in the Japanese Baseball Card Catalog. The cards come in a multi- colored box with a small heart cut out of the box, so part of the top card can be seen. The back shows a cowboy on a horse in purple ink These are Scarce overall. Mike Solomko Solomko came to Japan while serving in the United States Army, he arrived on a Destroyer by chance after getting switched from one destined for Korea. He got a tryout with the Osaka Tigers towards the end of his service, and ended up playing in NPB for six seasons from 1960-1965. He had a career average of .250 with a.447 slug%. He hit 95 home runs and twice hit over 20 in a season.
