Description: Here we have a luxurious metallic gold vintage specialty desserts menu from the fine dining European restaurant Hugo's, located within the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hong Kong, since 1969. The cover depicts the armored (and feathered and wildly festooned with greenery) head of the fictional character Herr Hugo Ludwig Wilhelm von Gluckenstein, a Bavarian host who served only the finest food and wine to his guests -- to see Hugo in his entire suit of armor, you need only step into the door of the restaurant where he stands ready to greet all of his guests. We have many other fabulous menus and other types of ephemera in our store, to which we add new inventory daily. We're always happy to combine shipping on like items at actual cost. (An oil painting and a basketball would count as unlike items, lol.) Provenance: From the estate of the Lake Bluff, Illinois, entrepreneur and epicurean, Othon Ochsner (1934-2017) who had a passion for collecting fine wines, cookbooks and restaurant menus from his travels around the world. Besides being the president and CEO of Ochsner International, and the managing director of Ochsner Auto and Bike Museum, Ochsner Object d' Art Gallery, and Ochsner Cook Book Library, he belonged to the Ordre Des Canardiers, a French organization dedicated to the preservation of French culinary traditions; and Les Amis d' Escoffer Society, which describes itself as "the nation's foremost fraternity of dedicated gastronomes.... with a membership consisting of chefs de cuisine, hotel executives, restauranteurs, and business executives who gather monthly for epicurean meals." Vintage: dated 04/1983 Approximate Measurements: 8" x 11" Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best and are the most important part of the description--please enlarge and zoom in on them and examine them carefully. Very clean and fresh piece, with overall light to moderate shelf wear. Nothing sticky or otherwise gross, and no funky odors. There is a drip mark on the lower right corner of the cover, and a small spot of surface wear to the upper right quadrant of the inside back cover. No other marks, and no writing, stains, tears, holes, or other major flaws. Rest assured that we will do all we can to ensure that your piece of ephemera arrives exactly as presented in our photos. We invest time and appropriate materials into shipping all of our ephemera. Most pieces are sent in envelopes that are sandwiched between cardboard before being sent as Priority or first-class parcels in non-bendable mailers, which ship at rates much higher than first-class letters. We never toss our ephemera into thin stationery envelopes with forever stamps stuck to them expecting the USPS to deliver them to you with great care. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us.The Fine Print: We expect payment within 1 day of purchase. If you're waiting for other auctions to end so that you can combine shipping, shoot us a message to let us know.If you're unable to pay within terms, please reach out with your Plan B. Things happen. Especially these days. So just shoot us a message. We don't accept buyer-remorse returns but we will grant you the use of our description and photos so that you can re-ebay the item yourself.Although we don't accept buyer-remorse returns, reach out if you're unhappy with your purchase! If we messed up -- everybody does -- give us a chance to fix it. We promise it was unintentional, and we'll do what we can to make it right.
