Peet obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1972. Pete was introduced to glass in 1971 as one of the first students of a fledgling glass working school. He was invited by renowned glass artist, Dale Chihuly, to participate in the creation of an experimental glass workshop near Seattle, Washington which has become known as the Pilchuck Glass School. In the spring of 1972 Peet collaborated with Dale Chihuly and Dan Dailey at the Rhode Island School of Design and returned to Pilchuck that summer as a teaching assistant. In 1973 Peet built his first glass studio in Steamboat Springs, Colorado; then another in Kansas City, Mo. in 1974. Following his passion for glass blowing, Peet continued his studies as a graduate assistant under Henry Halem at Kent State University. As Henry Halern’s graduate assistant at Kent State University (1974-76), he participated in several workshops with acclaimed glass artists Paul Marioni, Bertil Vallien, Joe P. Meyers and Fritz Dreisbach. Robinson completed his MA in Glass from Kent State in 1976. Robison exhibited at many art shows over his life time. His earliest shows included "Missouri Crafts Council '74 Crafts Exhibition" at the Fine Arts Gallery, Univ. of Missouri, Columbia, 1974 (Art Extension Purchase Award); "3rd Biennial Lake Superior Int'l Craft Exhibit" Tweed Museum of Art, Duluth, Minn., May 1975; "Great American Holiday Exhibition" Fairtree Gallery, N.Y., N.Y., Nov. 1975 - Jan. 1976.; "Contemporary Art Glass '76" Lever House, N.Y., N.Y., 1976. After a brief time operating a glass studio in the Kansas City River Market area, Peet and his wife Susan moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1976 and opened Robison Glassworks which they continued to operate for 28 years. During his time in Santa Fe, Peet was an important part of a powerful glass community which also involved successful glassblowers including Charlie Miner, Peter Vanderlaan and Henry Summa. In 2004, Peet moved his studio back to his hometown, Lake Lotawana, Mo. Over the years he developed techniques, tools and equipment which had given him the freedom to work alone. This is unusual with contemporary glass today, but as a former ceramic artist he found it quite natural. Peet's unique single handed glass blowing techniques and designs are renowned in the US hand blown glass community. His ability to design his own unique equipment to accommodate his glass blowing operation has become as legendary as the beautiful works of art he created. His work can be seen in public and private collections throughout the world."
