Landet church is a classic Danish small town church, which was constructed under king Valdemar approx. 1150-1200. In 1634, the church was remodeled with a tower and an armory. The reverse features a depiction of the church tower stretching skyward, as seen through the leafs of the surrounding chestnut trees. The heart and pistol that is weaved into the foliage symbolizes the unhappy love story between Elvira Madigan and Sixten Sparre, whom both are buried in the church's cemetery. The obverse features the portrait of Queen Margrethe II.
