Description: Margaret O’Brien 21” Composition Doll Marked “Alexander” on Back1940’s I have had this doll for several years, thinking I would resculpt the thumb and toes of her feet. Someone tried to do “something” with what appears to be a modeling epoxy, but it needs to be redone or at least painted. It seems I am not going to find the time to restore this doll any time soon, so she is listed here. No return is offered. Now let’s get picky: She has crazing, of course, and needs to be restrung after the repairs are made. Right now, she’s very loosey goosey, so please unpack her with care. I believe her wig is original, but the pigtails are just gone. The lip paint is chipped. The left eye wants to sit back into the head just enough to let the eyelashes rest behind the face, but… Those eyelashes are full and nice. The eyes look good to me. Her shirt is mommy-made and someone did a nice job. Her panty has a “China” tag, so it isn’t at all original. Her socks are surely a replacement. I believe these dolls were made in the mid-1940’s, and only for 2 or 3 years. She is, I believe, going to be a beautiful girl once restored. Thank you for looking!
