Description: Presented is an interesting French 1st standard sterling silver tastevin or wine taster. This piece is in a classical tastevin form and displays chased circle and hashes around the exterior; it is also larger and much heavier than most. There is a cast and applied handle of two serpents or fish. Around the piece, the taster is mark with the French 1st standard mark for .950 purity silver and a maker's mark with the initials PD. There appears to be another mark on one of the handles but we were unable to identify it. The taster is in great overall condition. The piece is is a decent size and only has one small dent on the bottom edge of the bowl. There are no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
