Description: A rare example, in very good condition, of a small model microscope, with round base, and mirror on folding joint, signed "Nachet et fils, rue St Sévrin 17, Paris", i.e. datable to around 1865.This model of small microscope with a round base, with a mirror mounted on an interesting double joint, was introduced by Nachet in 1862 and no longer appears in the 1872 catalog. We can therefore date it to the mid-1860s, around 1865. In addition, the present model preserves a set of three Nachet eyepieces (numbered 0, 1 and 3) datable to the 1850s, which leads us to suppose that this is one of the first models of this type built , just after the transfer of the Nachet company from 16 rue Serpente to 17 rue Saint-Sévrin in 1863.This model is in perfect condition and in working order. It retains two original eyepieces, three objectives, its condenser magnifying glass which is mounted on the optical tube and its mirror. All the mechanisms are in working order. This rare microscope measures approximately 33cm in height and the box 28x16x10 cm.
