Agnes B Homme 2008aw purple denim pants, size 42 (fits 34”)

Description: Up for sale here is a pair of pants from the Agnes B label. Agnes B has been going strong in France since the mid 1970s, with its namesake designer still very much involved in the design. Agnes B has since made a name for herself in the art world as well, operating some very influential galleries, a production company and various other enterprises. Still, the clothes are definitely one of her strengths, infusing a strong workwear element and wearability into modern French design. Her label is one of those holdouts that still manufactures mostly in France (although it appears they’re manufacturing more abroad these days). The designs are timeless, effortless in that uniquely French way, and made to last. I sort of liken her to a French Yohji Yamamoto – she’s been around all along, producing consistently high quality stuff. So what we have here is a classic pair of pants in a five pocket straight leg configuration. Material is a 95% cotton, 5% elastane blend, giving the material a bit of a stretch and ensuring maximum comfort. This is a denim fabric, given a pretty unusual purple coloring. As noted on the tag, these pants come from the 2008aw collection. Given the unique coloring, I am not sure exactly how these will develop with wear. I would imagine that they should fade like a good pair of indigo jeans, but really time will tell. Silhouette is on the slimmer side, with branded buttons and button fly. Current iterations of these pants retail at about $250 from Agnes B. You can get it here much more reasonably. Size is labeled a 42, which should work well for a 34” waist in my opinion. I measure the waist at 34”, inseam at 31”, rise at 10”, and opening at the bottom of the leg at 8”. The pants come in lightly used, very good shape with no holes, tears, stain or visible signs of wear. Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
