Description: Antique 1860s Civil War Era Album-Mrs Lincoln-Union Generals-CVD Photos-Tintypes. This album is very old and some of the photo pages are loose from the very loose binding. The photos are mostly in good condition. The one of Mrs. Lincoln is somewhat damaged with a couple tears. Besides the photos of Mrs. Mary Todd Lincoln and the Generals, there are 13 CVD photos and 3 tintype photos included in this album. Included in the album is an Original 1861 CVD Photo of 9 Civil War Union Army Generals. Two creases on the CVD photo card. Some other surface wear from age. It was found in this very old family album that belonged to a lady who was 100 years old in 1900 or 1920. I couldn't be sure from the date shown in this auction album. See photo of the note found in the front part of the album. The CVD Union Generals photo measures 3 5/8" x 2 1/4". One photo provided clearly shows a stamp dated 1866 from the back of the previous photo of very old man. This is a very genuine US Civil War era album that would be a treasure for any collector of photos from that time. The Generals in the photo are: In the middle is Lieut. Gen. Winfield Scott and from top closewise are:Maj. Gen. Geo. B. McClellanMaj. Gen. John A. DixMaj. Gen. Nath. P. BanksBrig. Gen. Nath. LyonMaj. Gen. John E. WoolBrig. Gen. Robt. AndersonMaj. Gen. J.C. FremontMaj. Gen. Benj. F. Butler On the top over the Generals photos it says: THE GENERALS and on the lower part below the pictures it says: OF OUR ARMY 1861. Those words are a bit faded but clearly legible when examined up close. This is a very rare photo of some of the most prominent Union Army Generals of the US Civil War that took place from 1861 to 1865.I haven't seen this particular photo anywhere else.
