Antique 9.5" Brown and Tan Stoneware Jug with Vintage Electrical Lamp Conversion

Description: For your consideration is this Antique 9.5" Brown and Tan Stoneware Jug with Vintage Electrical Lamp Conversion, working! The Antique Stoneware Jug is actually in very good condition, with less than expected little nicks and chips. Obviously, there is a crudely drilled little hole in the back where a Vintage electrical conversion occurred and there are some small radiating cracks from this hole, but they appear to have been there for years and have not spread. It also appears that at some point the item had been painted a green color, with some residue on the electrical socket, around the top of the stoneware and inside some of the little nicks and chips. The Vintage electrical conversion seems to have been done well, for the time period, and is still completely functional. The thumb turn switch works fine, the bulb socket is in good shape, the plug is in good condition and the electrical wire is undamaged and completely pliable. Interestingly, there is a handmade wooden plug in the neck of the jug, done as a part of the electrical conversion, and this detail has done a wonderful job of protecting the jug in that area. This item WORKS completely as designed as a lamp, but the electrical components could also be easily removed and the jug itself would only be left with the small hole in the back. It is a very nice and unique item. The jug itself measures about 9 1/2" tall and about 6" wide.As a lamp, the height is about 11 1/2" tall to the top of the bulb socket.As is, this item weighs in at a hefty 3 pounds and 12 ounces.
