Description: This Bloor Derby Imari heart-shaped plate/platter in the King's pattern is an exquisite antique beauty. Based on the earliest Bloor Derby mark, its production dates to sometime between 1825 and 1848. This glossy, handpainted piece features flowers, leaves and other decoration in a mix of rich cobalt, gold and red on a light white background. With a length of 10.25 inches and a width of 8 inches, the platter has a gorgeous gadrooned border that you can feel with your fingertips. Its flaws are minimal, including light crazing throughout (see 2nd and 3rd to last photos), some wear and discoloration on the back of the platter, a few spots where the gilt has faded and a few pock marks that are original to its production. There are no chips or cracks on this piece, but there is a flake on its outer rim in one spot only (see very last photo).
