Description: Antique Quilted Petticoat Skirt, Berks County PA, 1800's. Winter wear quilted brown calico petticoat skirt. Machine made and machine quilted, for personal use. The waistband is made of a different brown calico and has one button hole that seems to be hand made. The lining is solid brown. It is edged/hemmed at the bottom with a black binding. The skirt is 37" from waistband to hem, the waistband is 40" and the bottom width is 46". And now for the rest of the info... The outside of the skirt has 4 marks about the size of a quarter and one very small mark that looked faded, perhaps a lye spill. No other holes or tears in the outside of the skirt. There is a repair on the waistband that has a second piece of material added on the inside. There is a tear in the waistband near the side seam. There is additional wear and tear on the waistband. The lining is worn at the side seam. The lining has a few small places where is it worn thin and two very small holes that show the batting. Over all I would say this skirt is in good condition considering its age and wear. Detail photos will show the issues mentioned. Please ask for more info and photos if wanted.
