Description: Antique pocket door escutcheon. Made of wrought bronze. Good condition, no structural defects. Was under paint, when stripped and cleaned had a yellow gold look but seemed to turn to a reddish or rose bronze after exposure. Happens sometimes with bronze that has a high copper content. Can be buffed out to a yellow but would need to be clear coated soon after to keep the polished gold look. I've found that sometimes a copper tarnish remover (the liquid type that works on pots and pans) works just as well.
