Description: Offered for your consideration… Antique Wedgwood Fruit Pattern Salad PlatesSet of Six (6) 1905 – 1920sDescription: This auction is for a set of five (6) salad plates by Wedgwood. It seems to be an unusual pattern as can’t find a record of it anywhere! The pattern shows a wreath of fruit (I think they’re tomatoes) on a vine around the rim; the rim is trimmed with gold. Measurements: Approximately 8¾” in diameter. Marks: The six plates in this set have three different markings (see photos). All have a hand marking of “Y179” or “4179.” The main mark was used between 1905 and the 1920s. Condition: This set is in excellent vintage condition, without cracks, repairs, chips, or crazing. All plates show moderate utensil marking. The paint has remained remarkably free of wear, though the gilt rims have faded a bit in places.
