Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Stunning, complete, 6-Volume, full calfskin quarto set of Appleton's Cyclopedia of American Biography. Over 16,000 biographical figures Many full-page pictures w/ tissue guards. Pages are clean and bright but are slightly age yellowed which is more significant at the outside edges. Bindings/spines are excellent. Covers are as follows: volume 1 covers are starting to separate from spine. Volumes 2-3-4 are quite solid. The front few papers on 3 are a bit loose. Volume 5 covers are starting to separate and some scuffs to the spine. Volume 6 cover hinges are soft with scuffs to spine. The volumes have different copyrights. The books are identical in all cases, so I'm at a bit of a loss. Volumes 2-4-5 are listed as 1888. 6 is 1889, 1 is 1891 and 3 is 1892.
