Description: This is a delightful pencil (and/or pastel) drawing of a blond boy holding a Pinocchio doll. The drawing is signed "John Axe 1988". The drawing, matt, frame and glass are in good condition consistent with age (see "Item Condition"). The paper backing has some tears. I understand (through my own online research) that the artist (John Axe), was an award-winning artist and the author of more than 30 books and thousands of magazine articles. These books and articles are about the hobbies of collecting dolls, toys, teddy bears and children’s series books. His artwork included designing teddy bears for the Merrythought Doll and Toy Company in England. For six terms, he was the editor of Doll News Magazine. In recent years, he contributed a large number of articles in book collector’s magazines about the hobby of collecting and purchasing books from the early 20th Century. In addition to many books about dolls, John Axe wrote two books about collecting series books, All About Collecting Girls' Series books and All About Collecting Boys' Series Books. Please do your own research on the artist and the drawing prior to bidding. It's a nice print which I'm sure you'll enjoy, but I could be wrong about the artist information above which has not been verified. Also be sure to note the shipping and handling cost before bidding. Shipping to Continental U.S. destinations only, no APO/FPO, PO Boxes or US Protectorates.
