Description: British Army of The Rhine - A 1946 Town Plan Military Wall Map of Bad Oeynhausen A well-detailed town plan which would have been pinned-up in one of the numerous military facilities within the town which post-war hosted the Control Commission for Germany, the military government for the British Zone of Occupation and served as the British Army of the Rhine HQ. A four colour map, showing a printing date of November 1946 in the lower left corner, scale 1:2,500. The town is divided into eight zones (coded A-H) with each military company having its own area - the HQ Coy. Taking over the Central Park area. Approx. 1170x900mm., folded, three old horizontal tears (up to 540mm.) which have been patched-up in the past with old Bournemouth Corporation Transport labels (the soldier’s father worked for them apparently!), pin-holes and peripheral wear and tears as one would expect from a working map.
