Description: This is a 1st edition later printing of the classic South African novel unique for containing a "Second Authors Note" dated October 27th, 1959, which adds more demographic context to the novel's real historical mise--scene. This particular copy is a 14th printing of the first edition, as indicated by the letter "N" on the copyright page. The book's binding is undamaged and the text is entirely clean (I made sure myself). There is fading from sunlight exposure at the spine of the dust jacket and some yellowing of the pages. Please also not that this is an ex libris copy that bears some telltale scars, including 1) superficial scuffing, tape marks, and discoloration on the cover and pastedown; 2) a dust jacket inner fold that is clipped; and 3) a library stamp on the title page.
