Description: 1998 drama thriller Dark Harbor starring Alan Rickman, Polly Walker, Norman Reedus and directed by Adam Coleman Howard. The Story: A bickering couple drives through pouring rain to catch the last ferry to their island retreat. They come upon a crumpled body laying at the side of the road. They stop, only to find a young man battered and bruised. An offer to summon the police is firmly rejected so they help him as best they can, although it certainly means missing the ferry. So starts this thriller: a tale of twisted sexual attraction and ulterior motives. Comments: Filmed against an autumn Maine backdrop, this movie boasts an excellent cast and a plot that keeps you guessing throughout. At times eerie, at times funny, this film will stay with you for days after seeing it. Rickman and Walker are wonderful as the icy married couple and Reedus does well as the odd man out... or is he the odd man in? The opening shot of a winding, deserted road in a downpour at dusk (and the score that accompanies it) sets the tone. Nice work from a new director/screenwriter Adam Coleman Howard. Not to be missed. Per the label, the film has 84 minute running time and is presented in full screen 4:3 format; with English audio, no subtitles. This movie-on-demand MOD archive title on recorded media is new and factory sealed. The DVD disc is Region 1, NTSC format, specifically designed to play on DVD players in North America.
