Description: ETRON FOU LELOUBLAN – Batelages. Replica RPC 002. French release. FACTORY SEALED NEW VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Originally issued in late 1976 or early 1977 (it was recorded in November of 1976). This edition issued in 2013. Pressed on 180g vinyl in a limited run of 500 copies. MEMBERS: Chris Chanet aka Eulalie Ruynat, Ferdinand Richard, and Guigou Chenevier. TRACKS: L’amulette Et Le Petit Rabbin (18:01), Sololo Brigida (3:12), Yvett’ Blouse (0:22), Madame Richard/:arika (9:22), and Histoire De Graine (11:10). DESCRIPTION: The debut album by this French jazz-avant-garde band was released in 1976. Weird free jazz/rock lunacy, with Captain Beefheart being a good reference point if you need it. Eccentric to the max, this is definitely not something for everybody, but if you're into that RIO thing you'll most likely love it. It remains an interesting record for two main reasons. First, it is the only Etron Fou featuring original singer/saxophonist Chris Chanet (aka Eulalie Ruynat). Second, what this group was playing was completely nuts. Ferdinand Richard's bass work had already reached a virtuosic level, enough for him to lead in two cuts. Guigou Chenevier's mad drumming, neurotic, depressive-compulsive—a cross between Magma's Christian Vander and free improv's original madman, Han Bennink. Those of you who travel the fringes of the musical universe are highly recommended to check out this band. They broke up in 1986, unfortunately, not long after a failed attempt to put together their first US tour. THIS ITEM IS NEW AND UNPLAYED.
