Description: Rare Meissen Porcelain figurine “Cupid balancing two hearts” (Devisechildren) Marked to the front of the plinth 'Je les balance', which translates to 'I balance them' Originally modeled by Michel Victor Acier, 1775 Hand painted. Under glaze blue crossed swords Meissen mark (that dates from 1815), stamped number “145” and scratched number “2”.. Figure is described "Meissen Collector's catalogue” by Laurence Mitchel, 2004, page 63, plate 1, 3rd row, # F2” Height 5.8" (14.5 cm) It in excellent condition for the age without any chips, cracks or repairs. IT IS IMPORTANT: A figurine with two hearts preserved is extremely rare. The vast majority of surviving figurines of this type have lost their hearts.
