Built from a Rainbow “wish list” of features, the Custom Shop has delivered an incredible Dealer Select run for Rainbow Guitars. First off, the relic’ing “wear” pattern is stunning, and has been meticulously recreated from photos of an actual 1963 Strat we fell in love with. The Custom Shop shows their true artistry when it comes to making an instrument look old. Putting looks aside, tone and playability is where this instrument really shines. The back of the neck has been worn “smooth to the wood” and the Modern “C” back shape feels instantly comfortable, and has been made even more playable with tall skinny 6105 frets and a 9.5” radius fretboard. Special hand wound pickups round out this “Player’s” Strat with very dynamic, and vocally articulate, underwound Ancho Poblano neck and bridge pickups, and a reverse wound/reverse polarity ’69 Strat middle pickup that eliminates hum in positions 2 and 4. This fantastic sounding pickup set is made even more flexible with a dedicated tone control for the bridge pickup and a treble bleed Tone Saver circuit that keeps the guitar sounding bright when you lower the guitar volume – instead of sounding muddy.
