Description: This listing is for the doll shown and everything she's wearing. An exquisite example of the coveted "Cissy" doll by Madame Alexander. I believe this particular doll is from 1955, her face & body appear to be one of the earlier painted dolls as opposed to the infused dolls produced later on. Her paint has rubbed off some on the neck under her chin and near the joint area at the top inner parts of her legs, shown in photos. She features a gorgeous bob wig full of luxurious curls in red. Her hair is beautiful, it's full, no knots or clumps, it's soft and shiny, not brittle or dry. This doll is VERY very clean and has no odors, her previous owner took excellent care when looking after Cissy. Her eyes are fairly clear, not crystal but they are better than some I've seen. Yhey are slightly yellowed, this is fairly common in older dolls though. The sleep eye mechanism is working perfectly. Her lashes have some missing spots, but nothing too bad in my opinion. Check photos. Her face coloring is nice, original eyebrows in tact, original painted lower lashes still in tact, original lip color still in tact, though it's starting to fade on one corner. She is strung nice and tightly, no loose or swingy limbs! All fingers are in tact, joints move as they should. She does have some splits. One at the top of each hip joint, they aren't visible unless you physically pull the leg out of the joint. They certainly aren't visible on display, & the other splits are on her outer leg near the side of the knee. I've included photos but none of these appear serious in my personal opinion. The doll also has one teeny tiny little paint rub on her nose. In my personal opinion this isnt a big deal and it certainly doesn't affect the dolls display value. She's gorgeous! When you bend her knees there's a tiny bit of yellow glue residue in the joint area, but this is not anything serious, see photos. She comes with a beautiful red velvet gown, this is not original, however it appears fitting on Cissy. Dress is not perfect, could use a bit of tlc. Doll has no odors.
