And I mean come on ... as far as the Coolest of the Coolest ! in G.D. Pass designs go !? I mean we are talking about the Shakedown Street ! logo here Fans ... The Grateful Dead still ! Touring a little Shakedown Street era goods ... and right in New York ! Binghamton !!! Ha ! ... as I just had ! to sneak another one in there, and I'm sure that You ! can understand. Wow ... Sugaree to open up the 1st ! Set -- and China > Rider !!! to open up the 2nd Set !! Both the '79 East Coast runs were Nasty ! for the Band, as they were beginning to deliver a ' New ' brand of Good Ol' Grateful Dead ... best known as the " Brent-Era ! ". In fact this Broome Co. 5/8/79 Show was only Brent's 7th Show with the Grateful Dead !!! I mean who even needs Disco - when you've got Mr. Mydland on your Team !?! ... just a Big-Man !! in a small package. Wow ... Well, I don't know about you - but, if I ever ! see that cherished word ' Binghamton ' on a tape, or a tape list, or ... of yeah - a CD too ! ... Ha !! -- I immediately grab for it ... because there-will be some sort of Live Magic ! And, this is indeed kind of a tongue-in-cheek joke here ... as the Grateful Dead only ever played four ( 4 ) Shows in Binghamton !?!? Three ( 3 ) at the Broome Co. Arena ( Coliseum ) in 1977, 1979, and 1983. And, of course too ... the other being at Harpur College on 5/2/1970 - best known as Dick's Picks 8 ! And, also known even better than that ... as Dick Latvala's favorite Dick's Picks ! -- which, he so eloquently referred to as ... " The Show Of All Shows !!! ". Whoa ?!? ... see what I mean here ? Hey, and for what it's worth too ... for me personally ? I actually believe that 11/6/77 was one of the Best ! ... and definitely one of the Tightest !! Dead Shows of All-Time. Those two sets on 11/6/77 pretty much rival the definition ! of ' Perfection '. I mean how can any Deadhead out there not have a Binghamton Pass in their cherished G.D. Collection ?
