Dave's Picks, Vol. 26 (Albuquerque Civic Auditorium, Alburquerque, NM - 11/17/71)Limited edition: 10162 / 18000 -- Disc 3 features 15 songs from the 12/14/71 Ann Arbor show with Pigpen Dave's Picks, 2018 Bonus Disc (Hill Auditorium, Ann Arbor, MI - 12/14/71)Features the remainder of the Ann Arbor show, with only "Ramble on Rose" omitted Dave's Picks, Vol. 48 (Pauley Pavilion, UCLA, Los Angeles, CA - 11/20/71)Limited edition: 3173 / 25000 -- Disc 3 features 8 songs from the 10/24/70 St. Louis show The Fall 1971 tour is one of the most underrated tours in the Dead's history and Albuquerque is one of the most underrated shows from the tour. This was Keith Godchaux's first tour with the Dead, and Pigpen missed all of the shows in October and November due to ill health, so the band was recreating themselves onstage and exploring their newfound improvisational potential with Keith. Disc 2 of the Albuquerque show features a monster "Other One>Uncle>Other One>Wharf Rat>NFA" jam that just doesn't quit. The band was also promoting their new "Skull and Roses" live album, and these shows feature definitive versions of new songs like "Bertha" and "Big Railroad Blues." The 12/14/71 show is equally monstrous, with Pigpen back in the fold and all-time great versions of "Playing in the Band," "Casey Jones" and "Mexicali Blues." Both sets are lightly used, with light wear to the cases (including a small corner dent in DP48) but no damage to the discs. See photos for more details.
