Description: Grateful Dead : " One From The Vault " - The Great American Music Hall - San Francisco, California ( CA ) - August 13, 1975 ( 8/13/75 : 8/13/1975 ) : 2 CD : 1991 (1975/1991) Grateful Dead Records / Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. / Grateful Dead Merchandising, Inc. ( GDR / GDP / GDM ) - GDCD40132 : The ' Original ' 1991 release of the 8/13/75 Grateful Dead !! ' Live-Classic ' !!! The Very-First ! ... " Inaugural ! " release by The Grateful Dead - from the " Vault !!! " ... 8/13/75 ! at The Great American Music Hall !! in San Francisco, CA !!! ... " One From The Vault !!!!! ". Oh my Grateful Dead !!! The " One " that indeed started it All ! ... the Very-First " Inaugural " release from the " Grateful Dead Vault !! " ... August 13th, 1975 ( 8/13/75 ) - from The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, California !!! ... Duh-huh - Duhh-Nahhh !!!!! Wow, well we've all heard this massive 1975 release, right ? I sure hope so ... and if not - by All ! means here You ! go !! And my goodness are you in for a serious Treat ! In fact, pretty much every person should hear this one, at some point in life. It's that good - and in the Deadhead Universe, it's just as equally important historically - as it is musically good. So when you are as great of a band as the Grateful Dead, you can take a little time off - some time for yourself - a few solo projects here and there and what have you. Might as well refresh - after being weighed down physically, emotionally, and financially - after the burden of the Wall of Sound ( though, what a beautiful-sounding burden it was - to the Dead Fans ! ). But, we are not only talking about the Best Band ever here - we are also talking about pure addicts of playing Music ' Live ' - and the burning desire to " take it to the people ". So after " The Last One " run completed at the Winterland in October of '74 - the Dead as a unit were only able to stay-away from performing live for less then 5-months ... studio sessions ensued in March of '75 ( for the S.N.A.C.K. benefit show in S.F. ) - and this led to additional studio sessions in both April & June at Bob Weir's " Ace's " studio in Mill Valley. Then finally ... a Grateful Dead headline show booked & performed back at the Winterland on 6/17/75 ! Then, some more studio sessions at " Ace's " in July. Then, then, then THIS !!! The Monumental ! - Massive ! & Historic ! Grateful Dead performance at The Great American Music Hall ! in San Francisco on 8/13/75 - broadcasted on FM ! just about 2-weeks later !! True signs that they were " Back ! ". And as eagerly hoped for, a 1976 Summer Tour was indeed booked. But even more importantly, this new " Blues For Allah " material was unique, very different & truly mind-blowing stuff! ! Help > Slip > Franklin's ! - Crazy Fingers - The Music Never Stopped - Blues For Allah - Sage & Spirit, and etc.. The Grateful Dead yet once again showed that they are not only refreshed & rip-roaring and ready-to-go - and ... that they have gone nowhere ! Only gotten better ( much-better ), and are an even more powerful force to be reckoned with now as not only a great Live-Band - but an even much better Studio-Band now too ! As it goes without saying ... " Blues For Allah " speaks all for itself on this claim. Just as Mars Hotel & Wake Of The Flood also did prior. So ... here we have " One From The Vault " 8/13/75 !!! It is sonically-awesome - meets - live musical-perfection - and is an indeed ( Absolute ! ) " Must-Have " for all audiophiles who Love their ' Live ' Rock 'n Roll !! - and of course ... their Grateful Dead !!! I was fortunate enough to actually " hear " the original 8/13/75 played through an impressive sound-system inside the Great American on 8/13/95 at a private event following Garcia's untimely passing. I know, talk about pretty heavy-duty experience, right? Whoa ... So, just a little even extra-thanks out to all thee GDP Staff Pioneers ! ( Dan Healy - Don Pearson - Dick Latvala, etc. ! ) for this Live G.D. Digital ( ADD ! ) Audio " Masterpiece " !!! Just simply-excellent ... & Truly " One " for the Ages !!! ... Enjoy !!!!!
