Shows that equal, rival, and at some points ... even top ! those Cap Centre ' Tour-Opening ' Shows - this 3/30/90 Show at Nassau ... is without any-question one of those ! Basically, this Show is simply all-out & Huge ! Live Grateful Dead - right during the midst of a Tour ... that unarguably catches the Band at a late-best - and, arguably ... a, or even ' The ' Best ! So ... if you're a ' Prime ' Brent-Era Fan like me ? Whoa !! - there ever some Shows on this Tour that mowed-us-down !!! You know ... in a seriously Grate ! way. There was so-much Big-Big ! stuff that happened on this Tour, and this 3/30 Show ? My goodness, does it ever capture the essence. Or, as I should probably more precisely say - it succeeds ! in capturing Live & Prime ! Grateful Dead Lightning In A Bottle !!! This 3-Show run leaked around in bits, pieces, and parts tape-wise - but, without any question ... it was this Last/Final 3/30/90 Nassau Show that was truly the Talk of Town - and Tour ! Heck, I mean it wasn't hard to ' hear ' this one a few times in the RFK and/or Three Rivers Parking Lots ! Blasting loud too - on Cassette Tapes ! - naturally Ha ! ... Varoooommm !! - just-like this smooth looking Wes Lang Art designed Chopper ! on the Cover of this 3-CD Set !! Wow ! The Help > Slip > Franklin's came soaring straight out of the gate !!! The Rooster came in super-bluesy slide-trade fashion - and, sweetly ... the mid-1st Set delivered Dire Wolf ! - All Over Now ! - and Tom Thumb Blues ! - basically, the 1st Set stuff you went in hoping for ! And, a power-alley of a Picasso > Don't Ease! drove this Set home - back into the Hacienda ! - or, at least I'd assume ... Ha !! Set II Smoked-out real Fast ! with an Iko Iko !! And then, what happened next - was pretty much All ! G.D. History, and stuff of pure Grateful Dead Folklore ! >>> Playin' > China Doll > Uncle John's > Terrapin > Drums / Space > Miracle > Gimmie Some Lovin' > Standing On The Moon > Not Fade Away !!! And with too ... an Atttics Of My Life ! Encore !!!!! Wow ... just Wow !!! What a Beautiful ! G.D. Show, and ... I'm not the only-one saying it either - by a long shot, as the Help > Slip > Frank's was even ' selected ' by the Band ( produced by Phil Lesh ?!! ) for the soon after released & now Classic ! " Without A Net ". This Show is Red-Hot ! ... and the Band ! meant real-serious business all over these 3/30/90 Sets, and - here indeed is That ! Proof in this exceptional pro-released format ! Which, only took like 22-ish years ! to deliver ... but, my goodness - is it ever worth the wait !
