Description: Humphrey Bogart authentically signed typed letter, dated 1942. This letter is part of the collection of Eloise Coates, who founded the first Bogart fan club. The collection was first auctioned by RR Auctions, one of the premiere autograph auction houses, and then later by Bonham's, and this letter will be accompanied by a COPY of the RR Auctions Certificate of Authenticity that accompanied the collection. (Note that the RR COA quotes this letter in its entirety). Bogart mentions The Maltese Falcon, John Huston, Sidney Greenstreet, and Mary Astor in describing his "new picture", Across the Pacific. He also mentions a trip in his boat "Sluggy" with his wife Mayo Methot, and tops the letter off by writing that he recently registered for the draft. An outstanding letter from the Golden Age of Bogart's career, with a bold signature. Good to Very Good condition, with usual mailing folds and quite a bit of light creasing. I guarantee the authenticity of this autograph. I've been buying and selling autographs for 30 years, I was a feature writer for Autograph Collector Magazine in the 1990, and I've been selling on Ebay since 2001. Please see my extensive autograph listings - I'm happy to combine shipping. Thanks, and happy collecting!
