Description: KUNISADA Woodblock of Downtown Geisha from the series of Famous Women from Famous Places Lovely print of a young geisha looking into a mirror that has been concealed in a stack of tissues. She looks at her reflection as she looks down, her hair elaborately styled with a large comb and many tortoise-shell hairpins. She wears a gray kimono patterned with birds over a red under robe, tied with a blue obi that reverses to a geometric print. Nicely detailed with delicate embossing on her white collar. The fan inset shows fireworks over the Ryogoku River. Framed and double matted under glass. Please note that the paper is more of an ivory color than what it appears in some of the photos. Photo #2 is the best representation of the color that I could achieve.
