I am selling my Julius Caesar Roman Consul of the Roman Republic helmet. I have not made these in over 15 years and this one here was the last REAL gold plate helmet I have or made. It is also the last of its kind. It is not cheap, however. The helmet was first made out of red bronze, then silver plated and then gold plated. You have to silver plate bronze first in order to make the gold bright. It is also rare as I only made two with a wings Griffen on the front of the crest. I put a blond horsehair crest on it with blond tail. It has also been painstakingly padded using 100% Roman research using linen and wool felt on both the inner head dome and both cheek guards costing me $148 of which I will never do again as well. The artwork and mold is also destroyed as well so no more can ever be made again period even if I wanted too. To make this helmet today, it would cost me $1500 just for the gold plating work on it along as gold went from $325 an ounce to $3,350 an ounce. The helmet itself due to its rarity in ever single factor should be $3500 but the least that I will take for it is $2689. I made a plain one with no tail and no Griffen and no padding for the French Alesia Museum of Julius Caesar and his Gallic Wars, which I sold them while they were building the Museum.
