Original royal blue blind stamped boards with gilt front and spine decorations. 103 pages. 4 ¾ wide x 6 ¾ tall x ½ inches. Found with an old corner bookmark of two children that is included. Lucy was a Teacher, Poet and Author. Born in Beverly MA in 1824. Her family moved to Lowell where she worked in the Mills starting at Eleven years old. Known as Lowell’s most famous Mill girl. She has a park named for her in Lowell. From 1854-62 she taught at Wheaton Seminary School (now Wheaton College). She has a Hall named for her at Wheaton that was built in 1908. She died on April 17, 1893.
