Description: Fresh from a Northwest Arkansas estate is this pair of JENNINGS BROTHERS bronzed bookends, marked JB 1922, featuring a pair of German Shepherd dogs, one sitting taller than the second reclining dog. Both dogs have curling tails---although the tail is 'missing' on the front dog on one bookend---noticeable only if looking for it! These are beautifully crafted and the patina on this pair is exceptionally nice---although the front dog on one is slightly loose---probably needs to be tighten from the bottom---but this would require the felt to be removed---and I will leave that to the new owner. Each bookend stands 5 1/5" tall, 6 1/4" long, 3 3/4" wide and weighs approximately 3 lbs. The felt bottoms show wear appropriate for their age. Jennings Brothers was a fine BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT, foundry and produced some of the finest metal wares from 1890---1940. These dogs are GORGEOUS! I will bubble wrap and box carefully for better security in shipping.
