Complete Edition. Printed by William Clowes & Sons, London. In black leather binding, gilt title to spine. Gilt page edges. The front cover has an uncommon hall marked panel displaying a cross in its centre, with a floral design surrounding it. The cross has a purple background. The hallmark is 1917, London, Ws Ltd who we believe were Widmers Ltd, a silver mounters company based in London. The book is in overall very good condition for its age, with a few signs of wear. The black leather cover has mild rubbing along the edges, but no splitting with the hinges holding very well. The silver is a little dulled and lightly scratched. It’s fixed firmly to the front board. Black end papers in good condition, very slight surface wear. Black ink inscription on the first end paper dated 1919. Overall text block in very good condition, lightly used. Some age toning throughout but all text legible. Some very minor page creasing typical with India Paper. Gilt page edges are bright however lightly scratched and a little worn. Illustrated Frontispiece to both title pages. The book measures 5cm x 5.5cm. Overall this is a lovely example of a miniature prayer book, with as described minor signs of age, use and wear. An attractive and uncommon silver cover makes for a collectible edition.
