Description: A really neat relic: a match safe / match holder that a soldier made by ramming together two .45 Schofields. Dug at Fort Thomas, Arizona. From the collection of a gentleman I knew in Tucson who died over a decade ago, who used to metal detect in southern Arizona. This was in a box of relics marked "Fort Thomas." The fort was built in the 1870s on the south bank of the Gila River, east of the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. Fort Thomas was abandoned in the 1890s. Nothing remains of the fort today, and a small town--also called "Fort Thomas" -- has been built at the site. Thanks for looking! I AM HAPPY TO COMBINE SHIPPING COSTS ON MULTIPLE PURCHASES. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT MY EBAY STORE FOR MORE DUG RELICS AND OTHER COLLECTIBLES!!!
