Description: The first two images are of flowering mature plants of this clone that are part of my permanent collection. The fourth image shows the plants for sale, planted in pure NZ sphagnum in a 2.25"/5.6 cm plastic pots. With proper care, these plants should flower from early fall intermittently into winter. Pinguicula laueana is a stunning, red-flowered tropical butterwort that is relatively easy to grow and flower under suitable conditions. In nature, it is restricted to middle elevation cloud forests of the Sierra Mixe in northeastern Oaxaca, Mexico. As is evident in the image above, select populations often have very showy, long-lasting and brilliantly-colored flowers that are among the most attractive of the genus. While preferring cooler to intermediate temperatures, they expand to their largest rosette size during the fall and early winter. Under optimum conditions, are large plant or colony of this clone can flower sporadically nearly year round. A well-established clump is a beautiful and different table centerpiece. This is the product of one of my crosses of two select individuals that I have grown for many years, 'CC' and 'BR'. This outcross has generated a very high percentage of excellent offspring as they flower out, some of which have been assigned clonal names. As individual clones bloom, I am selecting offsets for sale from them for sale; these will all match flower forms shown in opening images. While preferring cooler to intermediate temperatures, they expand to their largest rosette size during the fall and early winter. Under optimum conditions, are large plant or colony of this clone can flower nearly year round. A must have for all serious CP enthusiasts and an exceptional companion plant for cool orchid growers.
