Description: Post Civil War GAR Kepi. Marked "GAR" in a laurel wreath, both made of bullion, and the inside is marked "Shannon Miller & crane" over "46 Maiden Lane" over something illegible. The body of the kepi has a couple moth holes, is dusty, and has tight stitching. The brim is in good condition but the right side about 2 1/2". Both side buttons are eagles. The sweatband looks complete, has a couple small tears, surface loss, and the stitching is about 2/3 tight (some of the front edge has let go). Great early GAR kepi! Measures 3" Tall, 8 5/8" Front to Back, and 6 1/2" Side to Side. Check out my other War items!! Including Many Swords, Bayonets, and more great stuff!
