They look like they would be removable, but I'll leave that to the new owner Related information: Sign o' the Times (styled Sign "☮" the Times) is a 1987 American concert film directed, scored and starring Prince.[3] In 1987, to capitalize on his growing success in Europe, Prince toured extensively to promote the album of the same name and sales increased accordingly. However, the United States remained resistant to his latest album, and sales began to drop; it was at this point that Prince decided to film a live concert promoting the new material, for eventual North American theatrical distribution. Despite critical acclaim, it was a box office bomb. The film features the band that accompanied Prince on the 1987 Sign o' the Times Tour: dancer Cat Glover, keyboardist Boni Boyer, bassist Levi Seacer Jr., guitarist Miko Weaver, drummer Sheila E., keyboardist Doctor Fink, and the horn section of Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss; Wally Safford and Greg Brooks (of The Bodyguards from the Revolution era) reprised their roles as dancers, vocalists and comic foils. The documentary sees the group perform live onstage; although "U Got the Look", featuring Sheena Easton, is represented by its promotional music video. Sign o' the Times premiered in Detroit on October 29, 1987, and was released nationwide in 234 key locations on November 20. Despite critical praise for Prince as a live performer, the film did not perform very well commercially and quickly slipped out of theaters; album sales weren't really boosted by the film and it quickly slid out of view in the United States. Nonetheless, when released on VHS the following year, it became extremely popular and received positive reviews, particularly in the United Kingdom. Q magazine gave it four stars, whilst SKY Magazine suggested that it "was the greatest concert movie ever made". The film holds an 81% score on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, based on 16 critical reviews, with an average rating of 9/10.[6] Background - I worked in the UK video distribution industry from 1982 to 1994. Each week I received a delivery of video sleeves for the future new releases and also video posters and other point-of-sale material. Around 1985 I started collecting the posters and other interesting promotional items. Between one and several of each went straight from the large flat cardboard shipping packaging in which they were received from the distribution warehouse in London, into cardboard boxes. Later I bought large plastic stacking crates that enabled posters up to 20 x 30" to be stored flat. The larger ones were loosely folded as required to fit into the crates. Some posters came pre-folded from the printers. The common approximate sizes: 24" x 17" (60cm x 42cm)27" x 18" (68cm x 45cm) e.g. Warner28" x 20" (70cm x 50cm)31" x 20" (80cm x 50cm)33" x 24" (85cm x 60cm) e.g. RCA40" x 30" (102cm x 76cm) Quad, One-SheetBanner posters, usually around 12" x 60" The crates have been stored in dry, dark conditions with little disturbance. Therefore most of the items are in very good condition considering their age. This is commonly known as "A1" or "Near-mint". The posters have never been displayed or exposed to direct sunlight, therefore I am listing as "NEW" rather than used. They have been handled with care a few times during their journey through time and space to the present day, and any defects collected along the way will be mentioned in the listing. All are original posters that came direct from the UK film distributors. I am slowly going through them, and any duplicates I find, along with others that don't interest me personally for my own collection, are being listed for sale. SHIPPING Posters will be carefully rolled with protective paper and shipped in tubes, sent using a tracked service of Correos, the national postal service of Spain. Sometimes pre-folded posters are sent flat in cardboard envelopes. TAXES The packaging is marked "Printed Paper", and so far I have never been asked to provide customs paperwork, and I have never heard of any buyer being asked to pay import duties or taxes in the destination country, other than any country-specific purchase tax that is added by eBay at the time of purchase.
