Description: This is a beautiful penny minted in 1944. All lettering is legible and with minimal wear. The "L" in Liberty is on the rim. There is no mint mark. There is also what appears to be damage from the manufacturing process. On the face side, there is a semicircle shape that seems as though a layer was chipped off during minting. On the left side of the reverse there is a repeat of the semicircle minting error. I believe this was the result of an error in minting, not after. This is a very unique coin that needs to be seen to better understand the minting error. It really is like a layer of the coin is missing.
