Description: RARE Antique BLOWN GLASS Christmas FLYING BIRD Ornament GERMANY 1910-30s #2 Add a unique touch to your Christmas decorations with this rare antique fragile and Hand Blown Glass Bird Christmas Ornament mad ein germany - most likley in the 1910s-1930s- the form is early as it has the annealed hanger from the top of the bird's body- it was never one with a metal clip on the base- this one is more rare than those types which you always see examples of. I have another one of these we will be listing as well. It is very similar but the tail end of glass is longer than this one. This one may have cracked and/or worn away over the years. It is a very rare or hard to find this form as well. This antique ornament features an annealed top hanger bird which is flying with an inserted tail into the open tube of glass at the back of the bird. There is also a third one and that one has the clip on the base which is more vintage but nice as well. All 3 are all perfect for collectors of Early Antique Blown Glass Christmas holiday antique ornaments from Germany and ones from Japan or USA. We were so pleased to buy these two similar ones that we are listing as well as the third vintage one. This bird ornament measures approx 1.25" -1.5" tall from bottom of belly to top of body and approx 5.5" wide from beak to end of authentic feather tail! Thanks for looking.
