Description: This listing is for a Rare Pair of Beaux Arts / Art Nouveau Style lamps with reverse painted glass panels. They are Polychrome (multicolor) painted Metal Lamps of Ornate design, featuring gorgeous Reverse Painted Glass panels that absolutely glow when backlit. This Antique pair makes the perfect accent / table / boudoir lamps for a variety of rooms & styles of decor. They are an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor. The Beaux Arts style was a popular decor style in the United States from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. It was influenced by classical Roman and Greek forms and was used for many official buildings, such as state capitols, courthouses, banks, libraries, and lodge halls. The style's popularity declined after World War I, and Art Deco emerged as a response to the changing cultural and technological landscape. The pair are in good condition, with no major damage. There is some very minor wear to the polychrome finish of the metal, mostly around the bottom edge of the bases, but no major loss. I have only lightly cleaned them to avoid any additional wear. I have not cleaned the glass at all to avoid any paint loss. There is some minimal paint loss present to the panels, easily missed by facing that side away from the viewer. No cracks or large chips to the glass. It appears the lids were at one time hinged, but the hinges have let go. They are fine as is and sit nicely still.
