This coin was specific to the deployment to Fujairah, UAE. Marexsecron 11:Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron (MAREXSECRON) ELEVEN was established by order of Chief of Naval Operations, ADM Gary Roughhead, on April 15, 2010. This initial stand up consisted of disestablishing Maritime Expeditionary Boat Division FIVE SIX, Maritime Expeditionary Command and Control Division THREE ONE, and Maritime Expeditionary Security Division ONE THREE, and reconstituting the three separate units into one single command - MAREXSECRON ELEVEN. The FIGHTING ELEVEN commissioned on 11 September 2010 with CAPT Gary Buchanan commanding. In attendance were Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and RADM Michael Shatynski. MAREXSECRON ELEVEN is a multi-service (Navy/Coast Guard), hardware equipped, deployable asset that provides centralized planning, control, coordination, and integration of Maritime Security Force (MESF) assets for protection of strategic shipping and Naval vessels operating in the Inshore/Coastal area, anchorages and harbors, from bare beach to sophisticated shore facilities. The FIGHTING ELEVEN includes six detachments located in three states: BOAT DETs ALPHA, BRAVO, and CHARLIE based in Seal Beach, CA; SECURITY DET DELTA in Whiteman AFB, MO. SECURITY DET ECHO in Oklahoma City, OK; and SECURITY DET FOXTROT in Tulsa, OK. MAREXSECRON's primary mission is Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) conducted through fleet support with operations around the world to detect, deter, and defend an area, a unit, or High Value Assets (HVAs). AT/FP missions include harbor and homeland defense, coastal surveillance, embarked security teams, aircraft security teams, and special missions. MESF units (formally known as Naval Coastal Warfare units and previously Inshore Undersea Warfare units) have historically deployed worldwide. Locations include Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, Australia, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Iraq, Egypt, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Homeland defense in the United States.
