Description: It's rare I put "rare" on a listing, but these elbow pads are a mystery. I couldn't find anything on the internet about Saro. I posted in a vintage hockey gear group and a guy messaged me and told me the following: Saro was started and owned by his uncle, Rolly Sarault, who played goalie professionally in the UK and then went back to Quebec, Canada and started Saro in the early 1960's. Apparently, according to the nephew, "Henri Richard was featured in the ads for Saro equipment and clothing." I cannot verify any of this, but it's the only information about these elbow pads I could find. I also cannot verify they are leather, but they feel like leather, and I was able to find some amazing images of very cool leather jackets by searching for 'Rolly Sarault leather jackets,' which leads me to believe the info his nephew sent me is accurate and that the elbow pads are leather. CONDITION: Elbow pads are in used condition and show a lot of wear typical of use including stains, scuffing, marks, crinkling, paint loss of the outer part of the pads, fraying in the straps, and missing lacing.
